Venezuela en los últimos 20 años ha sufrido un deterioro importante de las fuerzas del orden. Desde el año 2015, al desmejorar la situación del país y al escalar las confrontaciones entre bandos políticos, estas se han transformado en una policía política al servicio del Gobierno. Solo en el año 2018 se registraron 7.523 fatalidades (1), ocasionadas por los cuerpos de seguridad, siendo por tanto el Estado quien ejecuta la violencia en el país y quien la utiliza como mecanismo de control político.

In the past 20 years, Venezuela has suffered a significant deterioration in law enforcement. Since 2015, with the worsening of the country’s situation and the escalation of confrontations between political parties, these forces have become the Government´s political police. In 2018 alone, 7,523 fatalities caused by security forces (1) were recorded. Therefore, the Venezuelan State has been the one carring out the violence in the country and has been using it as a mechanism of political control.
